ABOUT PHILLIP ENGLAND

In 1983, Phillip England accepted the position of Superintendent of Schools for Camp Verde Unified School District. He worked to improve school facilities, raise academic standards, and improve relations with the Yavapai-Apache Nation and the larger community. Phil successfully led efforts to build the Camp Verde Middle School and Camp Verde High School campuses. One of his proudest achievements was the completion of the Multi-Use Complex, specifically the Performing Arts Center. He believed the students and residents of Camp Verde deserved a performing arts center in which they could host school assemblies and enjoy music, theater, and other arts and culture events. Phil retired as Superintendent from Camp Verde in 1999 and the Center is named in his honor.
